Munday Lions Club

Welcome to the Munday Lions Club, where we believe that when caring individuals join together, problems get smaller and communities grow stronger. As part of Lions Clubs International—the world’s largest service club organization—we strive to make a difference both here in Munday and around the globe. From supporting community development projects to helping children receive essential eye care, the Munday Lions Club works tirelessly to serve those in need.
Our Mission
Lions Clubs International was founded with a vision to serve. We are dedicated to:
- Improving health and well-being
- Strengthening communities
- Supporting those with special needs
- Promoting peace and international understanding
Whether it’s by providing glasses to someone who can’t afford them or conducting fundraising events to support local initiatives, Lions are there—ready to roll up our sleeves and help.
Eyeglass Recycling: Changing Lives, One Pair at a Time
Do you have a pair of eyeglasses or sunglasses that you no longer use? That same pair could change another person’s life. Through our partnership with Lions Clubs International, the Munday Lions Club participates in the Lions Recycle for Sight program, which collects, cleans, and redistributes donated eyeglasses to people in need around the world.
Lions Recycle for Sight
- Collection: Throughout the year, Lions, Leos, and volunteers gather used eyeglasses.
- Processing: Glasses are sent to regional Lions Eyeglass Recycling Centers (LERCs), where they are cleaned, sorted by prescription strength, and packaged.
- Distribution: Most of the recycled glasses go to individuals in developing countries, where access to eye care is limited and the need is greatest.
How You Can Help
If you have prescription glasses, reading glasses, or sunglasses—whether in plastic or metal frames—you can donate them to help someone see clearly again. Children’s glasses are especially needed. In the Munday, TX area, you may drop off your eyeglasses at one of these convenient locations:
- Lawrence Bros. Supermarkets
- First Bank Texas
- Texas Farm Bureau Insurance
Every donation makes a real difference in someone’s life.
